5 Treatment “GREEN THUMB” Program
Enjoy a Thicker, WEED FREE LAWN
This program includes multiple applications of fertilizer and weed control. Guaranteed Turf Care exclusive “Green Thumb” fertilizers are custom blended for each season to replenish nutrients and deliver thicker, greener lawn. The granular fertilizer blends change with the season and usually include one liquid fertilizer in the spring for improved weed control. Crabgrass and a wide variety of broadleaf weeds are also treated regularly throughout the growing season to keep new arrivals out. Free service calls are available between scheduled visits to keep your lawn healthy and weed free.
| 1. Spring |
Our exclusive Green Thumb fertilizer is specially blended to replenish depleted nutrients for spring green-up. Weed control and crabgrass control are supplied if the seasonal timing is appropriate. |
| 2. Early Summer |
Our Green Thumb fertilizer will rebuild the food reserve to improve color and density. We'll take time to treat emerging weeds and apply a crabgrass control if none has been applied in earlier treatments. |
| 3. Mid-Summer |
Our specialist will scout for new weeds that have emerged and treat them. Summer conditions are stressful: we do not recommend forcing growth with fertilizers at this time unless conditions are appropriate. |
4. Late Summer /
Early Fall |
A Green Thumb slow release fertilizer to restore nutrients and encourage new root growth. Cooler nights encourage new weed growth which our specialists will treat. |
| 5. Late Fall |
A Green Thumb fertilizer that is specially blended to promote fall root development and nutrient storage for winter survival. |

“DENSITY BOOSTER” Program
Improve turf density by treating the soil
Core Aeration
Soils readily compact and lack oxygen which suffocate your grass plants. Breathe life into your grass plants root system by placing seven finger size holes per square foot into the root zone. These oxygen rich holes expand your root system and increase turf density. Recommended a minimum of once per year.
|
 |
Top Dressing Treatment
Build a denser, healthier turf by improving the quality of your soil. We custom blend your top dressing with the appropriate soils to improve your turfs growing power. Top dressing in combination with core aeration and seeding is and excellent method for building turf density.
|
 |
Lime or Gypsum Treatment
The density of your turf is reflected by the depth and density of your root system. The health of your root system is as good as the health of your soils.
Soils readily become acidic from rain and the decaying of grass clippings. The acidic soils hinder the root development and growth of bluegrass which grows best in soils that have a neutral PH. Start improving your soils growth potential and improve it’s density with a soil neutralizing lime application. Gypsum is recommended to break up suffocating clay soils.

 |
Slit Seeding - To Improve Turf Density
Guaranteed Turf Care's slit seeders will slice the seed directly into the soil to maximize the seed germination rates. A great way to improve turf density in thinner areas of your lawn.
|
 |
Over Seeding - To Maintain Turf Density
Grass plants are continually dying and to improve density requires regularly scheduled over seeding. For best results, we recommend over seeding right after a core aeration in the fall. Over seeding in conjunction with an aeration will maximize seed soil contact and improve germination rates.
|
|
Spot Seeding - To Repair Unsightly Dead Spots
This is a hand process of cultivating the existing soil, adding topsoil, seed and a water retention mulch to repair unsightly dead spots.
|
 |
Turf Renovation
Includes removing existing turf, preparing and improving soil with the appropriate soil amendments, and establishing a new turf with seed or sod.
|
 |
Soil Test
Soil testing reveals valuable information to improve the growing power of your soil.
